As Hollywood prepares for the annual Academy Awards gala this weekend, we’d like to share some recent New World Library–related honors:
Author Marc Lesser. Marc’s wonderful book Less: Accomplishing More by Doing Less was recently named a finalist in the motivational category of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s prestigious Books for a Better Life Awards.
New World Library. Fast Company has named New World Library the world’s 8th most innovative media company in Fast Company’s annual Most Innovative Companies issue, which is on news stands now. To create this year’s “Most Innovative Companies” issue, Fast Company’s editorial team analyzed information on thousands of businesses across the globe. As an environmentally aware company that makes every attempt to embody the ideals presented in our publications, it is a great honor for us to be recognized by Fast Company in this way.
Author Kimberly Wilson. Sprinkles Cupcakes, the world’s first cupcake company, recently ran a “BFF” contest on their Facebook page in honor of reaching their 100,000 fan goal on their Facebook page. Their lucky winner was none other than New World Library author Kimberly Wilson whose new book Tranquilista: Mastering the Art of Enlightened Work and Mindful Play just so happens to mention cupcakes several times. Talk about a match made in heaven! BFFs indeed.
New World Library. The Small Business Commerce Association (SBCA) has selected New World Library for the 2009 Best of Business Award in the Publishing category. The SBCA Best of Business Award Program recognizes the best of small businesses throughout the country. Using federal, state, city, and county government data and other research, the SBCA selection committee chooses the companies that are believed to have demonstrated what makes small businesses a vital part of the American economy.
Author Kent Nerburn. Kent’s latest book The Wolf at Twilight is a finalist in the Minnesota Book Awards’ Memoir and Creative Nonfiction category. The winners for this award will be announced on April 17th.
