"Changing Ourselves, Changing Our World: Our Most Spiritually Influential Authors" by New World Library publisher Marc Allen

Watkins Mind Body Spirit magazine has published its annual list of the 100 most spiritually influential people in the world: “spiritual activists, teachers, and authors that change the world.” We’re delighted that eight of them are New World Library authors.

Eckhart Tolle’s teachings have had a positive effect on a great many people worldwide. If you haven’t yet read The Power of Now, we encourage you to pick it up and give it a try. If it seems difficult for any reason, try the condensed version, Practicing the Power of Now, or get any of Eckhart’s many audios or videos. Eckhart Tolle’s Findhorn Retreat is wonderful in either audio or video format; Living a Life of Inner Peace and In the Presence of a Great Mystery are two of his most powerful, life-changing audios. He speaks simply, and with great humor; his words can help us all find much more peace in our busy lives.

Deepak Chopra has of course had huge success as well. We’re very proud that we published Deepak’s book that has sold more copies than any of his many other books: The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. It is concise and powerful. Many people have formed study groups with the book, reading and reflecting on each of the laws for a week at a time.

Alice Walker is best known for her Pulitzer Prize–winning novel, The Color Purple; New World Library published her book of new poems Hard Times Require Furious Dancing in 2010. Alice Walker’s writing is the work of a great soul.

Mantak Chia is a Taoist master who describes himself as a teacher “who helps students empower themselves through cultivating their chi energy.” We published his extraordinary book Emotional Wisdom: Daily Tools for Transforming Anger, Depression, and Fear.

Bernie Siegel is the doctor and surgeon who is famous for championing the miraculous power of love in the healing process. His latest book, which we published last year, is A Book of Miracles: Inspiring True Stories of Healing, Gratitude, and Love.

Peter Russell
received an honors degree in physics and experimental psychology from the University of Cambridge and then went on to study meditation and Eastern philosophy in India. His book, From Science to God: A Physicist’s Journey into the Mystery of Consciousness, is considered by many to be his most important contribution to the world.

Dan Millman’s Way of the Peaceful Warrior is a semi-autobiographical novel that has awakened millions of people around the world to new possibilities. His latest book, The Four Purposes of Life: Finding Meaning and Direction in a Changing World, offers brilliant insight that can help us live far more meaningful lives.

Shakti Gawain is known and loved by millions of people because of the gentleness, clarity, and insight of her writing and teaching. Creative Visualization is a spiritual classic. And we’ve just published the 25th Anniversary Edition of Living in the Light: Follow Your Inner Guidance to Create a New Life and a New World.

We’re delighted to be able to offer you the work of authors who are giving hope, clarity, and power to so many people. They are truly changing the world.
