(Novato, CA) New World Library announced the September publication of Horses and the Mystical Path: The Celtic Way of Expanding the Human Soul by best-selling authors by Drs. Adele, Marlena Deborah & Thomas McCormick.
In Horses and the Mystical Path, the McCormicks describe the journey, with their horses as companions, of integrating spirituality and religion with their professional psychological training. Beginning with a memorable trip to Scotland, when they had early inklings that Celtic spirituality held important insights for an equestrian-partnered spirituality, the McCormicks soon found themselves on a wisdom pilgrimage. From India to Santiago de Compostela in Mexico to southern Spain and Morocco, they followed the age-old relationship between horses and humans, exploring a mystical path embraced by a seemingly timeless and eternal group of horsepeople.
“These men and women intentionally befriended the horse to cultivate the human heart and soul, to reduce the ego, and to live on the cusp of the seen and unseen world,” they maintain. Through strange and serendipitous encounters, The McComicks discover that the ancient Celtic people gave birth to the prototypic psycho-spiritual paradigm. In this book, they explore the Celtic people’s longstanding integration of nature, mysticism, and personal development and demonstrate how the horse accompanied the Celts as they spread their spiritual vision far and wide.
On their journey, the McCormicks learned, through their interactions with their horses, to find a spirit of unity and beauty in everything they do. They identify, as the ancient Celtic people did, the horse as symbol of nature and spirit. They reveal what can happen when you stand before a horse, in complete humility, full of respect and wonder, and encounter the ground of your own being.
