Meredith Maran
Meredith Maran is the author of the bestselling books Dirty: A Search for Answers Inside America’s Teenage Drug Epidemic (HarperSanFrancisco, 2003), Class Dismissed: A Year in the Life of an American High School, a Glimpse Into the Heart of a Nation (St. Martins Press, 2000), Ben & Jerry’s Double Dip (Simon & Schuster, 1997), and What It’s Like to Live Now (Bantam, 1995). She also wrote Notes From An Incomplete Revolution: Real Life Since Feminism (Bantam, 1997), and a children’s book, How Would You Feel If Your Dad Was Gay? (Alyson, 1991).
Meredith writes for magazines and newspapers including Health, Vibe, Salon.com, George, Self, Parenting, Family Therapy Networker, Utne Reader, Tikkun, Bride’s, New Woman, Mother Jones, the San Francisco Chronicle, and the San Jose Mercury-News. She was a founding editor of the gay and lesbian national magazine Out/Look and currently works with UCLA’s Center for Community Health on family issues. |
