Gary Malkin is an award-winning composer/producer, performer, and recording artist, dedicated to making a difference in the world by participating in projects that inspire the heart and catalyze social change. He is also a sought-after speaker and "keynote performer" who is articulate about the healing role music and the arts can play in health care. He is passionate about furthering the integration of interfaith spirituality into the many facets of our society. He has enjoyed a highly successful career for over twenty years, having received seven Emmys and six ASCAP awards acknowledging his music in film and television, commercials and CD production. Following a number of major life transitions, a desire emerged to use his gifts for public service in more significant ways. Since then, his music has supported numerous film and television projects and live events with themes on tolerance, the environment, children’s welfare, and altruism. Together with healing music artist and creative partner, Michael Stillwater, he conceived of the innovative format featured in Graceful Passages. This acclaimed audio resource broke new ground in merging spoken wisdom with film score quality musical enhancement. He continues to enjoy creating themed musical performances, such as the event commemorating the one year anniversary of September 11th, which was held at the Washington National Cathedral. He lives in Northern California.
Michael Stillwater is a spiritual educator who uses music for healing. An award winning songwriter and recording artist, his music consistently weaves insights of universal spiritual principles with the melodic and harmonic styles of contemporary culture. He is artist/founder of Inner Harmony/Medicine Music and the creator of SongCare, a personalized therapeutic artistry developed for hospices and the healthcare community. Born from this experience, the recording of Graceful Passages was developed to respond to the challenging questions of mortality from a multi-faith perspective. A pioneer in the fields of American folk chant and intuitive song, he facilitates collaborative musical expression in schools, churches, and community centers. His illustrations have been published in numerous books, and he has served as an international music ambassador for more than 20 years. An inspiring and humorous speaker/performer, he presents at healthcare and interfaith conferences addressing the cultivation of presence. He lives in Northern California.
