Ann Leach

Ann Elizabeth Leach is a Life Coach, professional counselor, writer, and Goal Sister. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, Ann was an only child and lived in Virginia until she was 8 years old, when her father died. Ann and her mother moved to Tennessee, then settled in Bloomington, Illinois, where Ann spent most of her childhood. She attended college at Kentucky Wesleyan, majoring in Speech, Theatre, and Journalism. After college, she worked as a publicist for several professional theatres. In 1987, Ann moved back to Bloomington, Illinois, to care for her mother, who had contracted lung cancer. Ann founded the Cancer Support Network and devoted it entirely to support and resources. Following her mother's death, Ann facilitated hundreds of support groups for cancer and AIDS survivors and their families. This personal experience led Ann to pursue a Master's degree in counseling and psychology at Chadwick University. While taking graduate courses, Ann counseled teens and adults around substance abuse and HIV/AIDS. In 1997, she moved to Joplin, Missouri. After a short stint as a team leader and counselor, Ann started her Life Coach business. In addition to coaching, she facilitates workshops and trainings for people in the healthcare industry. Ann is also a writer. She self-published a children's book and a series of caregiver booklets, and contributes feature articles and columns to several regional publications. Recently, Ann assisted in the development of LifeSupport Ministries with her best friend, Ted Gillespie. Together, they facilitate depression recovery support groups.
