Charlene Geiss and Claudia Jessup

Charlene Geiss, diarist, educator, and artist, created the concept and artwork for Inner Outings. She is the founder of The Diarists’ Workshop in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she teaches journal-writing classes including Write On, The Critic Within, The Talking Book, and Between the Lines. In addition, she teaches the introductory level of The Diarists’ Workshop at the Santa Fe Community College. Her classes inspire her students to use the diary as a tool for inner exploration, creative expression, and the recording of one’s personal history.

With a master’s degree in education, Charlene has been instructing all ages for twenty years. She has been practicing the art of journaling for thirty years and is a recognized authority on the diary. As an artist, her innovative journals and assemblages have been exhibited in group and solo exhibits. She lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with her family.

Claudia Jessup is the author of five novels (under the pseudonym Meredith Rich), including Bare Essence, which was made into a CBS television miniseries. She has also written the perennial favorite The Woman’s Guide to Starting a Business, as well as all kinds of nonfiction and magazine articles for popular magazines, including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour, Redbook, New Woman, and Family Circle. She lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
