Medea Benjamin

Medea Benjamin (pictured right) is a mother, concerned citizen, and lifetime leader in the global peace movement. In 2002, she confounded CODEPINK: Women for Peace. She is the author and coauthor of eight books, including the award-winning Don’t Be Afraid, Gringo, and helped procude TV documentaries such as Sweating fo a T-shirt.

With master’s degrees in public health and economics, Medea worked for ten years a s an economist and nutritionist in Latin America and Africa for various international agencies. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and two daughters.
